What a lucky find! Sometimes called Wood Shamrock, the Mountain Woodsorrel (Oxalis montana) is a perennial herb which grows in patches connected by rhizomes. You can find this beauty in the forests of the Appalachian Mountains, where it loves the understory of mature forests of red spruce.
